Belgrade Mayor Siniša Mali opened today the completely reconstructed Hercegovačka street, with a new parking place, as part of the realisation of the Belgrade Waterfront project.

Mali said the City of Belgrade fulfilled its promise and fully reconstructed Hercegovačka street, specifying that asphalt, sidewalks and street lighting were replaced.

“Together with the reconstructed Belgrade Cooperative building, that part of the city is now completely different,” Siniša Mali stated.

He added that the works on the reconstruction of Sava promenade were progressing as planned and will be finished by September 22 or 23, stressing the importance of the two things for the Belgrade Waterfront project.

The Mayor also announced that laying of the cornerstone for Belgrade Waterfront will mark the start of the project by the end of the month.

“We have removed 236 buildings from the area to this day, 94 families left the place, 54 vessels were removed and now, as you can see, everything is prepared for the start of the construction. We want to reconstruct the entire area, waterworks and sewer system, to create all necessary conditions for the citizens that will be living here in the future,” Mali stated, adding that the works will start by the end of December.
