“70 years of joy” anniversary badges will be handed over by Dr Petar Škundrić, the Assembly President, and Ivan Todorov, the President of the Managing Board of Red Star SS.

Miodrаg Mаlišа Petrović – He knows very well what Red Star looked like on the day it was born. Together with a couple of other exquisite men he helped it to be born. He followed its further development, everything that happened in the life of our Red Star in the past 70 years. There is a fantastic piece of info in his biography – on March 4, 1945 he became a Red Star goalkeeper. He is the last living football player of the first generation of Red Star.

Srđаn Kаlember – He was between football and basketball. At the Founding Assembly of the football club he felt this sport to be closer to his heart; however, basketball happened to him. He was one of the members of the legendary first five who “taught” basketball in this region and who in ten years won ten titles. He shot and scored from where he wanted to and he will be remembered as a great small forward who played 101 games for Red Star.

Olgа Acić – Not many people in the world of athletics can boast with the fact that they spent more than 60 years in a single club. In our Red Star, we have people like that. It is actually a woman, or, more precisely, a super woman of amazing skills. She was the president of the Managing Board, President of the Presidency and President of the Assembly. She was the secretary as well. The super woman whose opinion is sought for and appreciated. The super woman whose super powers helped Red Star to become the athletic club with the most trophies.

Professor Drаgoljub Kаvrаn, PhD – Despite his professorial duties at the Faculty of Law and the requirements of important functions he performs, despite everything that the membership in the most prestigious European and world associations entails, he always manages to find time to dedicate to Red Star. He used to row for Red Star, for the club which was under the auspices of the Royal Family from the day it was founded, and today as a member of The Crown Council he is the president of his beloved club.

Drаgаn DŽаjić – There is no football related adjective that did not adorn his name. There is not a single top players list that he was not at the top of. The sportsman of the century of Red Star, the best left winger in the world of his time, the best football player in the history of Serbian and Yugoslavian football, director of the best football club in Europe and in the world, president of the Red-Whites and according to many the synonym for the football club. As a player, director and president he won 36 trophies.

Verа Jeftimijаdes – from the moment she took floret into her hands, there was no one better than her. Actually, no one compares to her even today. She is the best of all times, after all. Not only was she invincible, she defeated men as well. She was European crème de la crème, and she has an impressive 27 years long career during which she won 16 titles of the champion of the country, bronze medal and many more trophies at the Balkan and Mediterranean Games. The statistics, according to which she triumphed on more than 80 tournaments in the country and abroad, tells most about her.

Aleksаndаr Boričić – His name almost means ‘volleyball’ in Serbia. In our Red Star he had that seemingly logical path, the path of a sportsman. Logical, yes, but difficult, also, and meant only for the best. He played for Red Star and won trophies, managed Red Star as a coach and won trophies, led Red Star as the president and won trophies… He won trophies and made volleyball the sport which guarantees the results, both to Red Star and to Serbia.

Drаgаn Kаpičić – He was the champion of the world… A winger of who could not miss. He played for Red Star for 12 seasons and he kept on scoring and scoring and scoring… He was such a good shooter that for many times there was no one to compare to him in the country. After all, he is still the best shooter in the club’s history. He scored a total of 6,147 points for Red Star! As the team captain, he led Red Star to the Cup Winner’s Cup, the club’s first and so far only European trophy.

Vlаdimir Cvetković – He gave a lot to basketball... He gave a lot to football. As a matter of fact, he kept on giving selflessly to his Red Star. One of the best Yugoslavian basketball players played 13 seasons for Red Star and won two championships. The legendary secretary general won 18 trophies with the football club in the same number of years and, together with his associates, made Red Star the biggest East European club.

On behalf of the receivers of "70 years of joy" badges, the attendees were addressed by Vladimir Cvetković who held a very emotional speech which was greeted with a thunderous applause.

Following were the awards for the best seniors in the past year. The award for the best sportsman went to water polo player Sava Ranđelović. The award was handed to him by Vladimir Cvetković, the first winner of the best sportsman of Red Star award.

The best sportswoman in the previous year was Tatjana Jelača, the athlete who won a silver medal at the European Championship.  The award was handed to Tatjana by Vera Jeftimijades, the first winner of the best sportswoman of Red Star award.

The best club of the Red Star Sport Society in the previous year was Judo Club. On behalf of the club, the trophy was accepted by Stojаn Vujko, president of the Managing Board of the Judo Club, and it was handed to him by Professor Petаr Škundrić, PhD, President of the Assembly of the Red Star Sport Society.

The official ceremony was closed with the speech of Petаr Škundrić, PhD, President of the Assembly of the Red Star Sport Society.

The laureates cut the birthday cake, and then followed a joint photographing session for all the winning athletes and clubs of Red Star SS.
