The certificates on completion of professional training “Youth Employment Promotion“ were awarded during an official ceremony at the Palace of Serbia to participants who successfully completed the programme, implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in cooperation with the public and private sectors.
Minister of Youth and Sport of Serbia Vanja Udovičić congratulated the laureates of the certificate and also expressed his gratitude to all of those that have supported this project. He used the opportunity to emphasise that many of the attendees of the programme started their own businesses upon receiving additional expertise, as well as that large number of young Roma men and women successfully completed the training for career guidance and consulting, as well as professional training for seeking employment.
- I would like to emphasise my great satisfaction over the fact that after three years of successful implementation of this project, we are continuing to develop our support to organisations and centres that create a stimulating environment to young people to acquire entrepreneurial skills and start up their own business. It is their objective to make your path to employment easier by providing professional training in order for you to be able to become as competitive as possible on labour market, which is something many of you have proven to be possible by finding jobs in various fields – like for an example, customer services, the textile industry, trades and many others - said Minister Udovičić.
The Goša Institute, which recently became a member of the socially responsible corporation Millennium team, has been an active participant in the project “Youth Employment Promotion” since 2015, whose goal is to provide additional education for people aged 15-35 in order to improve their position in the labour market as well as to find employment faster.
According to Ivan Bošnjak, General Manager of Millennium Team, in addition to the responsibility and support to professional development of young people, the program also has a positive impact on employers, since it enables them to train adequate personnel that they would otherwise have a shortage of.
- This was exactly the motive for the Millennium Team to show up in the process of privatization of the Goša Institute, when it was still in progress. As a company, we recognized the interest in the potential in acquiring an institution that can easily providing the necessary staff for our activities. There is a huge shortage in the labour market, especially when it comes to welders. However, we realized that there is a great possibility for additional qualifications for existing welders, additional training for some newer technologies, but also the potential for some new, young welders that we still need to "build up" - Ivan Bošnjak said.
Ivan Bošnjak, General Manager of Millennium Team, expressed his satisfaction over the fact that many domestic and international companies showed an interest in recruiting candidates who received additional training at the Goša Institute, where more than 200 young people acquired additional know-how necessary for employment over the course of last three years, since the beginning of the project.
